BUILDING ETHICAL LEADERSHIP, SYSTEMS THINKING AND INNOVATION SKILLS
Ethics by Design: Leading New Futures is a new, curriculum-aligned leadership initiative developed by The Ethics Centre in partnership with The Menzies Leadership Foundation.
Designed for Stage 5 students, the program empowers young people to lead meaningful change and build essential ethical leadership skills to address real-world challenges.
We’re excited to offer schools the opportunity to take part in this dynamic, one-term interdisciplinary leadership program where students bring their creativity, passion, and ideas to make a real difference in leading change. Applications are open to take part in the Term 4 pilot program, at no cost.
This year, the program focuses on combating racism. Through this lens, students engage with ethical design, critical thinking, systems thinking and innovation, and apply these skills through inquiry-based lessons culminating in the Design Out Racism Challenge, a small group-based project with a $20,000 prize awarded to the winning school.
The program is available in a variety of delivery modes to best suit teacher’s needs including self-directed student completion as an extension opportunity or whole class teacher-led classroom delivery. Each option comprises approximately 11-hours of engagement time over the term and is supported by a full suite of resources, including online lessons, teacher lesson plans and student workbooks.
