Slanted Theatre is a five-year-old theatre collective founded by Tiffany Wong that aims to support Asian artists of all ages, genders, sexualities, and experiences.
In three years, they have worked with over 130 Asian artists and continue to work with Asian artists to make up the creative team and cast. Named a ‘Champion’ of the AA22 (Asian Australian) List of 2022 compiled by Erin Ai Wei Chew, Slanted has presented multiple productions, including Boom by Jean Tay (KXT on Broadway), Ching Chong Chinaman by Lauren Yee (Chippen Street Theatre), Three Fat Virgins Unassembled by Ovidia Yu at KXT bAKEHOUSE (Winner of Sydney Theatre Award for the Costume Design of Esther Zhong), Lady Precious Stream (The Flying Nun at Brand X), a world premiere of Short Blanket by Matt Bostock (Meraki Arts Bar), a play reading festival called Dragon Tales in association with the National Theatre of Parramatta for the 2024 Lunar New Year, two plays for Short + Sweet, as well Chain Play (How Asian Are You? and When There’s A Will, There’s A Way) for Sydney Fringe, where we received a 2022 theatre nomination, a development of STANS during a lockdown, and a 2nd birthday celebration featuring staged readings of seven excerpts of new work.
MEET THE TEAM

Tiffany Wong
Tiffany Wong is a theatre-maker with a disability working across Gadigal and Wurundjeri lands. She is an Australian-born Chinese artist with Singaporean and Malaysian heritage. Tiffany is a director for stage. She is the 2024 Cosgrave Associate Artist for Bell Shakespeare.
Her credits include Boom (Slanted Theatre & KXT bAKEHOUSE), Short Blanket (Slanted Theatre & Meraki Arts Bar), Lady Precious Stream (Slanted Theatre & The Flying Nun at Brand X), Three Fat Virgins Unassembled (Slanted Theatre & KXT bAKEHOUSE), and Ching Chong Chinaman (Slanted Theatre). She has also worked as an Assistant Director to Courtney Stewart for Top Coat (Sydney Theatre Company), to Lucy Clements on Iphigenia In Splott (New Ghosts Theatre Company), and as a Directorial Assistant to Richard Carroll on Murder For Two (Hayes Theatre Co), and to Javaad Alipoor on Things Hidden Since The Foundation of the World – Creative Development (National Theatre of Parramatta).
As an actor, Tiffany has performed in Romeo & Juliet (Australian Shakespeare Company), Two Worlds, One Heart (Your Side), Animal Farm (New Theatre), and Ching Chong Chinaman (Slanted Theatre). She is also in the feature film Five Blind Dates (Prime Video & Goalpost Pictures) to be released in February 2024.
Tiffany recently attended the Peking Opera Summer School at Shanghai Theatre Academy and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Performance Studies, Music, Chinese Studies) and Diploma of Languages (French Studies from the University of Sydney, and an Associate Diploma (Piano) from the Australian Music Examinations Board.
Tiffany is the Artistic Director of Slanted Theatre, a company that supports Asian-Australian theatremakers and storytelling. In three years, Slanted has worked with over 100 Asian-Australian artists. Tiffany was featured as an Honouree of the Asian Australian 2022 List. Tiffany trains in Kung Fu, currently learning the ‘double daggers’ form. She is a proud member of Actors Equity.
