Who decides what’s extreme?
Whether they’re accused of not living by our values, corrupting the youth, or being needlessly divisive, extremists have always pushed beyond the norm. They can be violent, state sanctioned, popular, or fringe. Is extremism the other side of democracy?

Speakers
Gill Hicks
is a London bombings survivor. She is the founder of the London-based not-for-profit M.A.D for Peace, a motivational speaker, author, curator, and cultural trustee.
Tim Wilson
is a former Human Rights Commissioner. He served as Human Rights Commissioner from February 2014 until February 2016. He was also policy director of the Institute if Public Affairs (IPA) for seven years.
Peter Whowell
is the manager of Counter-Terrorism Engagement & Operations Support for the Australian Federal Police (AFP). He was formerly the Manager of Government Relations.
