Some say free speech. Others say freedom from harm. Can political correctness help us find a balance between the two?
Even the term ‘political correctness’ gets people waving their respective flags and slogans in the air. But what does the team really mean? Has it failed itself, or do we need a reminder about what it promotes?
We took to the IQ2 stage to find out what the experts on both sides of the debate had to say.

Speakers
Chris Kenny
Chris Kenny is Associate Editor at The Australian and host of Heads Up on SkyNews. His early journalism career included reporting for the ABC, Channel Nine and Network Ten. Chris went on to serve as chief of staff for South Australian Premier Rob Kerin, former foreign affairs minister Alexander Downer and former federal opposition leader Malcolm Turnbull.
Jacinta Nampijinpa Price
Jacinta Price is an Alice Springs Councillor and Warlpiri/Celtic woman. She works to improve the lives of Aboriginal families and addresses challenging issues like domestic violence. Jacinta has a strong background in the arts, curating several galleries, producing children’s TV and being named Artist of the Year at the 2011 NAIDOC Awards for her singing career.
Tasneem Chopra
Tasneem Chopra is a consultant who speaks on cultural competence, identity, gender, leadership and discrimination. She delivers keynotes and workshops across the public and private sectors. Tasneem is board director for Ambulance Victoria and the Luke Batty Foundation and Chair of the Australian Muslim Women’s Centre for Human Rights. Her background is in international development, psychology and politics.
Mikey Robins
Mikey Robins is a comedian and household name. His stand up shows have seen him perform at Sydney and Melbourne Comedy Festivals and in front of Australian troops in Afghanistan. Mikey hosted triple j’s breakfast show for seven years before joining the Good News Week team. He has worked with Triple M and Vega radio and has interviewed the Dalai Lama.
