Create your legacy

Ethics is a long game. The work of The Ethics Centre – bringing ethics to the centre of our everyday lives, across multiple communities and industries – plays out over generations and decades, not months and weeks. We’ve been operating for 30 years and we’re looking forward to our next 30.

Making a gift in your Will is a powerful way to support the ongoing work of The Ethics Centre at a level that may not be possible during your lifetime. It is an opportunity to help us make a real impact by re-building the ethical infrastructure of Australian society.

Gifting with intention

It’s your Will and your legacy, so you can have a say in the type of work you’d like to see your gift applied to. You might wish to provide ongoing support for our free helpline, Ethi-call. You may want to fund permanent positions at The Ethics Centre so that we can employ young philosophers and ethicists in graduate roles. You could support our events program or our leadership work. Or you may simply wish to make an untied gift to be used as The Ethics Centre’s priorities change over time.

We encourage you to contact us so that we can discuss how your bequest or gift can be targeted to meet its intended purpose and to acknowledge your generosity. We’d be pleased to sit down with you over a cup of coffee to discuss our work and where funds can be most usefully applied.

Leave a legacy and be part of our future

A bequest can be made through your Will at any time, and you can pledge as little or as much as you like. A bequest can take the form of a percentage of your estate, a residual of your estate after other payments have been made, a specific sum of money or a particular asset such as real estate, works of art, or shares. We recommend you consult with your legal adviser before drafting or updating your Will.

We'd love to hear from you

We welcome your interest and will work with you to ensure your gift goes exactly where it is intended. If you wish to discuss leaving a gift in your Will to The Ethics Centre please contact Rosemary Smithson at rosemary.smithson@ethics.org.au or by calling +61 2 8267 5725.

SHABNAM HAMEEDBEQUEST SUPPORTER

"I've grown as an individual through The Ethics Centre's programs and my support ensures others can continue to benefit from their work as well"

Shabnam supports the Centre because she’s seen first hand the effect of its programs after taking part in ethical leadership training throughout 2009-2010. Despite being in her early 40’s she has already set up a bequest to The Ethics Centre. “It changed my way of working”, she explains.
